Twenty two families of mosses distributed in thirty six genus and fifty three species are mentioned for the Pico da Caledonea, County of Nova Friburgo, State of Rio de Janeiro. Of these, 7 species are recorded for the first time to the state and 2 to Brazil. Bibliography, basionym, type locality, examined material, comments and geographical distribution are presented.
