Increasing computing power in smartphones allows for their transformation into point-of-care diagnostic devices. Mobile medical diagnostic applications enable utilization of the processing capabilities of smartphones through their cameras. Hardware attachments or stand-alone versions of smartphone diagnostics have the capability to revolutionize quantitative readouts. Here, we describe a protocol for quantifying commercial colorimetric diagnostic tests with a stand-alone smartphone application…

Hormonal Smartphone Diagnostics.
TLDR
A method for utilizing mobile technologies to quantitatively read and interpret hormonal test strips is presented and demonstrates the detection of a urinary by-product of progesterone, pregnanediol glucuronide (PdG), and its relation to ovulation and the fertility cycle.
Kidney Smartphone Diagnostics.
TLDR
Here, a method for a mobile point-of-care (POC) testing of urinary albumin concentration, a biomarker of kidney damage and cardiovascular disease, is presented by means of a smartphone application.
Development of Multiplexed Infectious Disease Lateral Flow Assays: Challenges and Opportunities
TLDR
The need for severalxed LFA, key technical and operational challenges for multiplexing, inherent in the design and production of multiplexed LFAs, as well as emerging enabling technologies that may be able to address these challenges are summarized.
Colorimetric sensor for bad odor detection using automated color correction
Colorimetric sensors based on color-changing dyes offer a convenient approach for the quantitative measurement of gases. An integrated, mobile colorimetric sensor can be particularly helpful for
Developing a Mobile App (iGAM) to Promote Gingival Health by Professional Monitoring of Dental Selfies: User-Centered Design Approach
TLDR
iGAM is the first mHealth app for monitoring gingivitis using self-photography and facilitates the information flow between dentists and patients between checkups and may be useful when face-to-face consultations are not possible.
Developing a Mobile App (iGAM) to Promote Gingival Health by Professional Monitoring of Dental Selfies: User-Centered Design Approach (Preprint)
TLDR
iGAM is the first mHealth app for monitoring gingivitis using self-photography and facilitates the information flow between dentists and patients between checkups and may be useful when face-to-face consultations are not possible.
Application of leukocyte esterase strip test in the screening of periprosthetic joint infections and prospects of high-precision strips
TLDR
The leucocyte esterase strips test has been proved to be a valuable diagnostic tool for PJI, and its weight in PJI diagnostic criteria has gradually increased, and the application of new technologies is expected to overcome the limitations and improve its accuracy.
