Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) is the major regulator of proliferation and differentiation of neutrophilic granulocyte precursor cells. G-CSF activates multiple signaling molecules, including the JAK1 and JAK2 kinases and the STAT transcription factors.
