We discuss how to calculate genuine multipartite quantum and classical correlations in symmetric, spatially invariant, mixed n-qubit density matrices. We show that the existence of symmetries greatly reduces the amount of free parameters to be optimized in order to find the optimal measurement that minimizes the conditional entropy in the discord calculation. We apply this approach to the states exhibited dynamically during a thermodynamic protocol to extract maximum work. We also apply the…

Analytical expression of genuine tripartite quantum discord for symmetrical X-states

An analytical expression of GTQD for three-qubit systems characterized by a subclass of symmetrical X-states is derived and it is believed that the procedure here developed constitutes a valid guideline to investigate quantum correlations in form of discord in more general multipartite systems.

Maximally genuine multipartite entangled mixed X-states of N-qubits

For every possible spectrum of 2 N ?> -dimensional density operators, we construct an N-qubit X-state of the same spectrum and maximal genuine multipartite (GM-) concurrence, hence characterizing a

Genuine quantum and classical correlations in multipartite systems.

This work defines genuine total, quantum, and classical correlations in multipartite systems and shows that, for pure states of three qubits, both quantum and classical bipartite correlations obey a ladder ordering law fixed by two-body mutual informations.

Global quantum discord in multipartite systems

We propose a global measure for quantum correlations in multipartite systems, which is obtained by suitably recasting the quantum discord in terms of relative entropy and local von Neumann

Genuine multipartite system-environment correlations in decoherent dynamics

We propose relative entropy-based quantifiers for genuine multipartite total, quantum, and classical correlations. These correlation measures are applied to investigate the generation of genuine

Multipartite quantum correlations in open quantum systems

In this paper, we present a measure of quantum correlation for a multipartite system, defined as the sum of the correlations for all possible partitions. Our measure can be defined for quantum

Quantum correlations in high-dimensional states of high symmetry

In this article, we investigate how quantum correlations behave for the so-called Werner and pseudo-pure families of states. The latter refers to states formed by mixing any pure state with the

Experimental quantum computing without entanglement.

The results show that even fully separable, highly mixed, states can contain intrinsically quantum mechanical correlations and that these could offer a valuable resource for quantum information technologies.

Quantifying quantum discord and entanglement of formation via unified purifications

We propose a scheme to evaluate the amount of quantum discord and entanglement of formation for mixed states and reveal their ordering relation via an intrinsic relationship between the two

Maximally genuine multipartite entangled mixed X-states of N-qubits

For every possible spectrum of 2 N ?> -dimensional density operators, we construct an N-qubit X-state of the same spectrum and maximal genuine multipartite (GM-) concurrence, hence characterizing a

Quantum versus classical correlations in Gaussian states.

Quantum discord, a measure of genuinely quantum correlations, is generalized to continuous variable systems. For all two-mode Gaussian states, we calculate analytically the quantum discord and a
