We consider an ensemble of ultracold bosonic atoms within a near-planar cavity, driven by a far detuned laser whose phase is modulated at a frequency comparable to the transverse cavity mode spacing. We show that a strong, dispersive atom-photon coupling can be reached for many transverse cavity modes at once. The resulting Floquet polaritons involve a superposition of a set of cavity modes with a density excitation of the atomic cloud. The mutual interactions between these modes lead to… Expand

Optomechanical atom-cavity interaction in the sub-recoil regime
We study the optomechanical interaction of a Bose–Einstein condensate with a single longitudinal mode of an ultra-high finesse standing wave optical resonator. As a unique feature the resonatorExpand
Steering matter wave superradiance with an ultranarrow-band optical cavity.
TLDR
The instability boundary for the onset of matter wave superradiance is recorded and its main features are explained by a mean field model. Expand
Supermode-density-wave-polariton condensation with a Bose–Einstein condensate in a multimode cavity
TLDR
The ability to observe and understand density-wave-polariton condensation in the few-mode-degenerate cavity regime and the potential to study similar questions in fully multimode cavities are demonstrated. Expand
Interacting Floquet polaritons
TLDR
The production of Floquet polaritons provides a promising new route to the realization of ordered states of strongly correlated photons, including crystals and topological fluids, as well as quantum information technologies such as multimode photon-by-photon switching. Expand
Interaction-Induced Transparency for Strong-Coupling Polaritons.
TLDR
This work considers the propagation under the condition of electromagnetically induced transparency and shows that a novel many-body phenomenon can appear due to strong, dissipative interactions between the polaritons, and predicts the interaction-induced transparency transition even at low polariton densities. Strongly interacting polaritons in coupled arrays of cavities

Self-organization of a Bose-Einstein condensate in an optical cavity
Abstract. The spatial self-organization of a Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) in a high-finesse linear optical cavity is discussed. The condensate atoms are laser-driven from the side and scatterExpand
Light-induced quantum droplet phases of lattice bosons in multimode cavities
Multimode optical cavities can be used to implement interatomic interactions which are highly tunable in strength and range. For bosonic atoms trapped in an optical lattice, cavity-mediatedExpand
