This study is the second phase of the El Nino study which was undertaken by the CGPRT Centre in five vulnerable countries namely, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Papua New Guinea. The first phase of the El Nino study did not fully reveal the extent of El Nino impacts on production at the farm level, what efforts are undertaken by farmers to reduce possible production decline and what constraints are faced by farmers to implement efficient coping mechanisms.
