To develop effective, convenient and stable mucosal vaccines, mannose-PEG-cholesterol (MPC)/lipid A-liposomes (MLLs) entrapping model antigen bovine serum albumin (BSA) were prepared by the procedure of emulsification-lyophilization and used to constitute microneedles, forming the proMLL-filled microneedle arrays (proMMAs).
