The existence of multidimensional lattice compactons in the discrete nonlinear Schr¨odinger equation in the presence of fast periodic time modulations of the nonlinearity is demonstrated. By averaging over the period of the fast modulations, an effective averaged dynamical equation arises with coupling constants involving Bessel functions of the first and zeroth kinds. We show that these terms allow one to solve, at this averaged level, for exact discrete compacton solution configurations in… Expand

Flat bands and compactons in mechanical lattices.
TLDR
This work considers a discrete mechanical system with flat dispersion bands, in which the nonlinearity exists due to impact constraints, and considers a smooth nonlinear lattice with linearly connected massless boxes, each containing two symmetric anharmonic oscillators. Expand

Tunnelling of spin-orbit coupled Bose-Einstein condensates in driven double-well potential
Abstract The tunnelling dynamics of spin-orbit (SO) coupled Bose-Einstein condensates in a periodically driven double-well potential are investigated both theoretically and numerically. We find that,Expand
Theoretical studies of Bose-Hubbard and discrete nonlinear Schrödinger models : Localization, vortices, and quantum-classical correspondence
