  • The response of wild fish to pollutants was studied using two biomarkers in chub (Leuciscus cephalus) at five stations in the Moselle River (France) in 1998 and in 1999. The induction of cytochrome P450 1A was quantified by the ethoxyresorufin O-deethylase (EROD) activity in the liver and the level of DNA single-strand breaks was determined in erythrocytes using the comet assay.
