In this paper, we firstly analyze the mechanism of PeerCast as a P2P live streaming solution. An then, based on the shortcoming analysis of tree-based PeerCast, we propose a improved tree-mesh-hybrid scheme-MultiPeerCast, including Multi-thread media transmission, multiple-to-one overlay network reconstruct, optimized buffer design, media retrieving style changing from push mode to pull mode.
