A bstractWe revisit the construction of multi-centered solutions in three-dimensional anti-de Sitter gravity in the light of the recently discovered connection between particle worldlines and classical Virasoro conformal blocks. We focus on multi-centered solutions which represent the backreaction of point masses moving on helical geodesics in global AdS3, and argue that their construction reduces to a problem in Liouville theory on the disk with Zamolodchikov-Zamolodchikov boundary condition…

Geodesic description of heavy-light Virasoro blocks

A bstractWe continue to investigate the dual description of the Virasoro conformal blocks arising in the framework of the classical limit of the AdS3/CFT2 correspondence. To give such an

Exact Virasoro blocks from Wilson lines and background-independent operators

Aspects of black hole thermodynamics and information loss can be derived as a consequence of Virasoro symmetry. To bolster the connection between Virasoro conformal blocks and AdS3 quantum gravity,

Chiral boundary conditions for singletons and W-branes

A bstractWe revisit the holographic dictionary for a free massless scalar in AdS3, focusing on the ‘singleton’ solutions for which the boundary profile is an arbitrary chiral function. We look for

It will be shown analytically that the light sector of the identity block of a mixed heavy-light correlator in the large central charge limit is given by a correlation function of light operators on

Chiral boundary conditions for singletons and W-branes

We revisit the holographic dictionary for a free massless scalar in AdS3, focusing on the ‘singleton’ solutions for which the boundary profile is an arbitrary chiral function. We look for consistent

Large-c superconformal torus blocks

A bstractWe study large-c SCFT2 on a torus specializing to one-point superblocks in the N$$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 1 Neveu-Schwarz sector. Considering different contractions of the Neveu-Schwarz

Multi-centered higher spin solutions from WN$$ {\mathcal{W}}_N $$ conformal blocks

A bstractMotivated by the question of bulk localization in holography, we study the problem of constructing multi-centered solutions in higher spin gravity which describe point particles in the

On the universality of late-time correlators in semi-classical 2d CFTs

A bstractIn the framework of the AdS3/ CFT2 correspondence, we present a systematic analysis of the late time thermalization of a two dimensional CFT state created by insertion of small number of

Holography for bulk states in 3D quantum gravity

: In this work we discuss the holographic description of states in the Hilbert space of (2+1)-dimensional quantum gravity, living on a time slice in the bulk. We focus on pure gravity coupled to

Virasoro conformal blocks and thermality from classical background fields

A bstractWe show that in 2d CFTs at large central charge, the coupling of the stress tensor to heavy operators can be re-absorbed by placing the CFT in a non-trivial background metric. This leads to

Semiclassical Virasoro blocks from AdS3 gravity

A bstractWe present a unified framework for the holographic computation of Virasoro conformal blocks at large central charge. In particular, we provide bulk constructions that correctly reproduce all

From global to heavy-light: 5-point conformal blocks

A bstractWe consider Virasoro conformal blocks in the large central charge limit. There are different regimes depending on the behavior of the conformal dimensions. The most simple regime is reduced

Multi-Black Hole Sectors of AdS 3 Gravity

We construct and discuss solutions of SO(1,2)×SO(1,2) Chern-Simons theory which correspond to multiple BTZ black holes. These solutions typically have additional singularities, the simplest cases

Quantization of conical spaces in 3D gravity

A bstractWe discuss the quantization and holographic aspects of a class of conical spaces in 2+1 dimensional pure AdS gravity. These appear as topological solitons in the Chern-Simons formulation of

Worldline approach to semi-classical conformal blocks

A bstractWe extend recent results on semi-classical conformal blocks in 2d CFT and their relation to 3D gravity via the AdS/CFT correspondence. We consider four-point functions with two heavy and two

Many-point classical conformal blocks and geodesic networks on the hyperbolic plane

A bstractWe study the semiclassical holographic correspondence between 2d CFT n-point conformal blocks and massive particle configurations in the asymptotically AdS3 space. On the boundary we use the

Virasoro vacuum block at next-to-leading order in the heavy-light limit

A bstractWe consider the semiclassical limit of the vacuum Virasoro block describing the diagonal 4-point correlation functions on the sphere. At large central charge c, after exponentiation, it

Witten diagrams revisited: the AdS geometry of conformal blocks

A bstractWe develop a new method for decomposing Witten diagrams into conformal blocks. The steps involved are elementary, requiring no explicit integration, and operate directly in position space.

Universality of long-distance AdS physics from the CFT bootstrap

A bstractWe begin by explicating a recent proof of the cluster decomposition principle in AdS≥4 from the CFT≥3 bootstrap. The CFT argument also computes the leading interactions between distant
