We implemented a fully functional sequential MultiPaxos system and a prototype parallel Multi-Paxos system. The throughput of the system under various settings of the Paxos cluster size, network latency, and window size (of the parallel Paxos) were evaluated, giving us insight into how and when these factors affect the performance. Additonally, despite existing methods for electing distinguished proposer, we proposed and evaluated a different simple yet effective approach to determine the…

A Distributed Lock Manager Using Paxos : Design and Implementation of Warlock, a Consensus Based Lock Manager
Locking primitives are one of the mechanisms used by distributed systems to synchronize access to shared data or to serialize their actions. Depending on the design, the locking service may constit
Response Time and Availability Study of RAFT Consensus in Distributed SDN Control Plane
TLDR
This work provides a detailed analytical study of the distributed consensus algorithm RAFT, implemented in OpenDaylight and ONOS SDN controller platforms, and shows how a fast rejuvenation mechanism for the treatment of failures induced by software errors can minimize the total response time experienced by the controller clients, while guaranteeing a higher system availability in the long-term.
Méthodologie d'évaluation pour les types de données répliqués. (Evaluation methodology for replicated data types)
TLDR

Paxos made live: an engineering perspective
TLDR
The experience in building a fault-tolerant data-base using the Paxos consensus algorithm is described, and the measurements indicate that the team has built a competitive system.

TLDR
The Paxon parliament's protocol provides a new way of implementing the state machine approach to the design of distributed systems.
Impossibility of distributed consensus with one faulty process
TLDR
In this paper, it is shown that every protocol for this problem has the possibility of nontermination, even with only one faulty process.
