Detecting abandoned packages in a multi-camera video surveillance system
TLDR
A video surveillance system that detects abandoned packages automatically, which highlights object association using multiple cameras and the multiple-state abandoned package model, and detection of the event of a package being abandoned.
Real-time wide area multi-camera stereo tracking
TLDR
A ground-based fusion method for camera handoff using space-time constraint is developed and a stereo segmentation and tracking techniques to handle multiple humans moving in groups in cluttered environments are proposed.
Detecting Changes in 3D Structure of a Scene from Multi-view Images Captured by a Vehicle-Mounted Camera
TLDR
The proposed method is compared with the methods that use multi-view stereo to reconstruct the scene structures of the two time points and then differentiate them to detect changes, and the experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms such MVS-based methods.
Multi-camera 3D scene reconstruction from vanishing points
TLDR
The 3D scene reconstruction by concurrent multiple views from the distinct cameras located at the upper corners of a room for volume calculation of objects in everyday indoor environments shows that the volume computation is very accurate and reasonably time consuming.
Robust ground plane detection for obstacle avoidance of mobile robots using a monocular camera
TLDR
Practical experimental results of a wheeled mobile robot show that the proposed imaging system successfully estimates distance of objects and avoid obstacles in an indoor environment.
A Comparison and Evaluation of Multi-View Stereo Reconstruction Algorithms
TLDR
This paper first survey multi-view stereo algorithms and compare them qualitatively using a taxonomy that differentiates their key properties, then describes the process for acquiring and calibrating multiview image datasets with high-accuracy ground truth and introduces the evaluation methodology.
Robust tracking-by-detection using a detector confidence particle filter
TLDR
A novel approach for multi-person tracking-by-detection in a particle filtering framework that uses the continuous confidence of pedestrian detectors and online trained, instance-specific classifiers as a graded observation model, which relies only on information from the past and is suitable for online applications.
Foreground segmentation using adaptive mixture models in color and depth
TLDR
A method for modeling the background that uses per-pixel, time-adaptive, Gaussian mixtures in the combined input space of depth and luminance-invariant color is proposed, making it well-suited for a wide range of practical applications in video event detection and recognition.
ViRoom - Low Cost Synchronized Multicamera System and Its Self-calibration
TLDR
This paper presents a multicamera Visual Room (ViRoom), constructed from low-cost digital cameras and standard computers running on Linux and a fully automatic self-calibration method for multiple cameras and without any known calibration object.
A dense stereo matching using two-pass dynamic programming with generalized ground control points
TLDR
By employing a two-pass dynamic programming technique that performs optimization both along and across the scanlines, the typical inter-scanline inconsistency problem is solved and the stability and efficiency of the optimization are improved significantly.
