Dynamic and static starting motor starting studies were conducted for the largest motor (13.2 kV, 3200kW) in a Saudi-based urea manufacturing plant for peak load and worst case scenarios. The results of these motor simulation studies indicate no motor starting problems in the peak load scenario. Motor starting in the worst case plant operating conditions however was found to cause significant voltage dips that can affect plant operation.
