Sufficient reference values for motor nerve conduction velocity (MNCV) in very preterm infants are not yet available. In the placebo infants within an L-thyroxine supplementation trial, born at less than 30 weeks' gestation, ulnar and posterior tibial MNCV measurements were performed shortly after birth. Repeated measurements were done at 2 weeks, at term, and at 6 months corrected age.
