: Coccocypselum is a small neotropical genus of creeping herbs belonging to the Rubiaceae (Rubioideae). A recent macromolecular study suggested a previously unknown relationship between Coccocypselum and two other neotropical genera, Declieuxia and Hindsia, but the morphological evidence for this relationship was obscure.
