As a basis for the interpretation of data gathered by LOPES and other experiments, we have carried out Monte Carlo simulations of geosynchrotron radio emission from cosmic ray air showers. The simulations, having been verified carefully with analytical calculations, reveal a wealth of information on the characteristics of the radio signal and their dependence on specific air shower parameters. In this article, we review the spatial characteristics of the radio emission, its predicted frequency…
Polarization measurements of radio emission of cosmic ray air showers with LOPES
It has been recently definitively established that the development of Extensive Air Showers (EAS) which are induced in the Earth's atmosphere by impinging cosmic particles from the outermost space is
Detection of highly energetic neutrino-induced showers with a LOFAR-like array
Neutrinos are interesting particles, because they offer an extra window to the Universe. Their cross section with matter is very small, so they can travel large distances before being absorbed,

Radio emission from cosmic ray air showers - Coherent geosynchrotron radiation
Cosmic ray air showers have been known for over 30 years to emit pulsed radio emission in the frequency range from a few to a few hundred MHz, an effect that offers great opportunities for the study

The results show that it should be possible to determine the nature and composition of UHECRs with combined radio and particle detectors, and to detect the ultrahigh-energy neutrinos expected from flavour mixing.
Radio emission from cosmic ray air showers. Monte Carlo simulations
We present time-domain Monte Carlo simulations of radio emission from cosmic ray air showers in the scheme of coherent geosynchrotron radiation. Our model takes into account the important air shower
