Seven monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) have been prepared to phytochrome from green oat (Avena sativa L. cv. Garry) leaves. One of these MAbs (GO-1) cross-reacts with apoprotein of the phytochrome that is most abundant in etiolated oat shoots as assessed by immunoblot assay of fusion proteins expressed in Escherichia coli.
