Phylogeny of the Labeoninae (Teleostei, Cypriniformes) based on nuclear DNA sequences and implications on character evolution and biogeography
- Biology
- 2012
Results of the character evolution show that all oroman-dibular morphological characters are homoplastically distributed on the molecular phylogenetic tree and suggests that these characters evolved several times during the history of labeonines.

Most morphological characters diagnostic of the 13 Chinese species of the cyprinid genus Sinilabeo Rendahl, 1932, are identical to those of the genus Bangana Hamilton, 1822. Consequently, these 13…

Phylogenetic relationships of the Chinese Labeoninae (Teleostei, Cypriniformes) derived from two nuclear and three mitochondrial genes are described.
A re-examination of the molecular phylogeny and biogeography of the genus Schizothorax (Teleostei: Cyprinidae) through enhanced sampling, with emphasis on the species in the Yunnan–Guizhou Plateau, China
- Environmental Science

The phylogenetic history of the species is congruent with events caused by the uplift of the Tibetan Plateau and the YGP, and two geological periods, the late Miocene and the Pliocene were important times in the vicariant speciation of Schizothorax.

Speolabeo, new genus, is established for Bangana musaei, a fish from caves in the Khammouan Karst in Laos, which is distinguished from all species of Bangana s.l. in having only 7-8½ branched dorsal-fin rays, the pelvic-fin at the vertical between the first unbranched and first brancheries, and details of mouth morphology.
