In this study, overlapping cDNA clones covering the entire S RNA molecule of Junin virus, an arenavirus that causes Argentine haemorrhagic fever, were generated. The complete sequence of this 3400 nucleotide RNA was determined using the dideoxynucleotide chain termination method.
