We present new mm interferometric and optical integral-field unit (IFU) observations and construct a sample of 12 elliptical (E) and lenticular (S0) galaxies with molecular gas which have both CO and optical maps. The galaxies contain 2 x 10 7 to 5 × 10 9 M ⊙ of molecular gas distributed primarily in central discs or rings (radii 0.5-4 kpc). The molecular gas distributions are always coincident with distributions of optically obscuring dust that reveal tightly wound spiral structures in many…
Molecular Gas and Star Formation in Local Early–type Galaxies
Abstract The molecular gas content of local early-type galaxies is constrained and discussed in relation to their evolution. First, as part of the ATLAS3D survey, we present the first complete, large
Cold gas in a complete sample of group-dominant early-type galaxies
We present IRAM 30 m and APEX telescope observations of CO(1-0) and CO(2-1) lines in 36 group-dominant early-type galaxies, completing our molecular gas survey of dominant galaxies in the Complete

In this letter we construct a large sample of early-type galaxies (ETGs) with measured gas-phase metallicities from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey and Galaxy Zoo in order to investigate the origin of
COLD MOLECULAR GAS IN MERGER REMNANTS. I. FORMATION OF MOLECULAR GAS DISKS
We present the 1 kpc resolution 12CO imaging study of 37 optically selected local merger remnants using new and archival interferometric maps obtained with ALMA, CARMA, the Submillimeter Array, and
Star formation in nearby early-type galaxies: the radio continuum perspective
We present a 1.4 GHz Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA) study of a sample of early-type galaxies (ETGs) from the ATLAS3D survey. The radio morphologies of these ETGs at a resolution of θFWHM ≈ 5
THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MOLECULAR GAS AND STAR FORMATION IN LOW-MASS E/S0 GALAXIES
We consider the relationship between molecular gas and star formation surface densities in 19 morphologically defined E/S0s with stellar mass ≲4 × 10^(10) M_⊙, paying particular attention to those
Cold gas and dust: Hunting spiral-like structures in early-type galaxies
Context. Observations of neutral hydrogen (H I) and molecular gas show that 50% of all nearby early-type galaxies contain some cold gas. Molecular gas is always found in small gas discs in the
Discovery of Large Molecular Gas Reservoirs in Post-Starburst Galaxies
Post-starburst (or "E+A") galaxies are characterized by low H$\alpha$ emission and strong Balmer absorption, suggesting a recent starburst, but little current star formation. Although many of these
Nuclear activity is more prevalent in star-forming galaxies.
We explore the question of whether low and moderate luminosity active galactic nuclei (AGNs) are preferentially found in galaxies that are undergoing a transition from active star formation (SF) to
Molecular and atomic gas in dust lane early-type galaxies - I. Low star formation efficiencies in minor merger remnants
In this work we present IRAM 30-m telescope observations of a sample of bulge-dominated galaxies with large dust lanes, which have had a recent minor merger. We find these galaxies are very gas rich,

Molecular gas and star formation in the SAURON early-type galaxies
We present the results of a survey of CO emission in 43 of the 48 representative E/S0 galaxies observed in the optical with the SAURON integral-field spectrograph. The CO detection rate is 12/43 or
