}The ability of topoisomerase II inhibitor, teniposide, to induce aneuploidy and meiotic delay in somatic and germinal cells of male mice was investigated by fluorescence in situ hybridisation (FISH) assay using labelled DNA probes and 5-bromo-2'-deoxyuridine (BrdU) incorporation assay, respectively. Colchicine and mitomycin C were used as a positive control aneugen and clastogen, respectively, and these compounds produced the expected responses. Using FISH assay with centromeric and telomeric…

Comet‐FISH studies for evaluation of genetic damage of citalopram in somatic cells of the mouse
- BiologyJournal of applied toxicology : JAT
- 2013
It is suggested that citalopram at the recommended human doses induces some genetic alterations, which can adversely affect the normal cellular functioning in mice, and the clinical use of cITALopram must be weighed against the risks of genetic damages in citalipram users.
Molecular cytogenetic evaluation of the mechanism of genotoxic potential of amsacrine and nocodazole in mouse bone marrow cells
- BiologyJournal of applied toxicology : JAT
- 2013
It is demonstrated for the first time that amsacrine has high incidences of clastogenicity and low incidence of aneugenicity whereas nocodazole has highincidences of anEugenicity andLow incidencesof clastogens during mitotic phases in vivo.

Two molecular mechanisms were invoked to explain the different affinity of Giemsa stain for differential BrdU-substituted chromatid DNA, postulated that chromatin structural organization, in terms of DNA-protein and/or protein-protein DNA interaction, is responsible for SCD production.

A battery of tests used in conjunction with the high throughput STAPUT gravity sedimentation was recently developed for purification of male germ cells to investigate genotoxicity for phase specificity in germ cells and its applications as well as on chemicals of known in vivo phase specificities used during this test system development.
Aroclor 1254-induced genotoxicity in male gonads through oxidatively damaged DNA and inhibition of DNA repair gene expression.

- 2014
The expression of DNA repair genes p53, PARP1 and BAX were up-regulated in testes of mice killed after 3 and 24h of last administration of 4 mg/kg/day Aroclor 1254, and the unrecovered OGG1 may suggest that inhibition of DNA Repair can be considered as a potential mode of action of AroClor 12 54 gonadal toxicity and carcinogenesis.
Distribution of the sex chromosome during mouse spermatogenesis in testis tissue sections
- Biology, MedicineThe Journal of reproduction and development
- 2015
This work developed a method of fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) using specific probes for the X and Y chromosomes to obtain their positional information in histological testis sections and revealed the sex chromosomal position during spermatogenesis in each stage of seminiferous epithelia and in each sPermatogenic cell.
