An associative N2 fixing bacterium was isolated from the roots of finger millet (Ragi) using LGI-P medium and purified Genomic DNA was isolated, amplified using 16S rRNA primers and sequenced. Based on the sequence homology available at NCBI (National Center for Biotechnological Information) GenBank, the bacterium was identified as Gluconacetobacter diazotrophicus.
