Information concerning molecular reidentification of the species of the rejected genus Chlamydozyma is generalized. The yeasts Chl. pulcherrima Wickerham (1964) and Chl. reukaufii Wickerham (1964) are shown to be sibling species of Metschnikowia pulcherrima Pitt et Miller (1968) and M. reukaufii Pitt et Miller (1968), respectively.
