Mold allergy is a risk factor for persistent cold-like symptoms (PCLS) in children, therefore parents should try to eradicate mold in their homes, according to Florida researchers. Researchers studied 44 children ages 4 to 14 years, with perennial allergic rhinitis diagnosed at an allergy clinic. All had sensitivity to at least three mold allergens; 25 had PCLS for at least the last two years.
