Abstract The structural and magnetic interactions in stoichiometric (Mn3SnC), carbon deficient (Mn3Sn C 0.8 ) and tin deficient (Mn3 Sn 0.85 C) antiperovskite compounds are studied using X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy and neutron diffraction. The study confirms the presence of local structural distortions only around Mn atoms in the antiperovskite compounds irrespective of their stoichiometry. The distortions in the Mn6C octahedra are such that only Mn atoms are displaced from…

Abstract The structural and magnetic properties of transition metal-doped Mn3SnC are studied with an aim to understand the effect of transition metal atom on magnetostructural properties of the
Effects of Ge substitution for Sn on the crystal structure, magnetization, and the magnetocaloric effect of Mn3SnC
Abstract The effects of a Ge substitution for 50% Sn on the crystal structure, magnetization and the magnetocaloric effect of Mn3SnC were investigated using high-resolution X-ray diffraction,
Table-like magnetocaloric effect around room temperature of antiperovskite composite materials based on Mn3Sn1-xGaxC
Abstract The Mn3Sn1-xGaxC materials based on Mn3SnC with Sn partially replaced by Ga were prepared and their phase transitions were studied. With increasing Ga content, the Curie temperatures (Tc) of

Role of Tin and Carbon in the magnetic interactions in Mn3SnC
Abstract In this paper we attempt to understand the role of tin and carbon in magnetic interactions in Mn 3 SnC. Mn 3 SnC exhibits a time dependent magnetic configuration and a complex magnetic
Mechanism of magnetostructural transformation in multifunctional Mn3GaC
Mn3GaC undergoes a ferromagnetic to antiferromagnetic, volume discontinuous cubic-cubic phase transition as a function of temperature, pressure, and magnetic field. Through a series of temperature
Magnetism and the defect state in the magnetocaloric antiperovskite Mn3GaC1−δ
Magnetic and spectroscopic techniques were used to study the intermetallic antiperovskite Mn3GaC. An antiferromagnetic–ferromagnetic magnetostructural transition at 160 K underlies a remarkable
Magnetovolume effects in manganese nitrides with antiperovskite structure
TLDR
Not all the dopants in the A site, but the elements that disturb the cubic triangular antiferromagnetic state, are effective in broadening the volume change, which suggests that instability neighboring the phase boundary is related to the broadening.
Effect of composition on magnetocaloric properties of Mn3Ga(1−x)SnxC
A study investigating the effect of Sn substitution on the magnetocaloric properties of Mn3Ga(1−x)SnxC compounds reveals that the nature of the magnetocaloric effect (MCE) has a strong dependence on
Magnetic, transport and magnetotransport properties of Mn3+xSn1-xC and Mn3ZnySn1-yC compounds
The magnetic, transport, and magnetotransport properties of Mn3+xSn1-xC (0 <= x <= 0.4) and Mn3ZnySn1-yC (0 <= y <= 0.9) compounds are investigated systematically. For Mn3+xSn1-xC, a sharp rise in
Effect of local structural distortions on magnetostructural transformation in Mn3SnC
In this paper we attempt to understand the different nature of first order magnetic transformation in Mn3SnC as compared to that in Mn3GaC. The transformation in Mn3SnC is close to room temperature (
Phase separation and effect of strain on magnetic properties of Mn 3Ga 1 − xSn xC
While the unit cell volume of compounds belonging to the Mn 3Ga 1 − xSn xC (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) series shows a conformity with Vegard’s law, their magnetic and magnetocaloric properties behave differently
Effect of carbon content on magnetostructural properties of Mn3GaC
Abstract Effect of carbon content on magnetostructural transformation in antiperovskites of the type Mn 3 GaC x ( x =0.8, 1.0 and 1.05) has been investigated. It is found that increase in carbon
Magnetic ordering in the frustrated J1 - J2 Ising chain candidate BaNd2O4
The AR2O4 family (R = rare earth) has recently been attracting interest as a new series of frustrated magnets, with the magnetic R atoms forming zigzag chains running along the c axis. In this paper,
