Chrysin, a natural flavone compound found in plants, has anti-inflammatory activity that has been previously explained in part by the suppression of promoter activities of pro-inflammatory enzymes, cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS).
