Process planning activities are critical in manu- facturing distributed environments where different companies need to collaborate in product development. In this work, we propose a workflow model for a collaborative process planning environment in which original equipment manufacturer and suppliers companies interact with the help of Product Lifecycle Management and CAD/CAM tools. The proposed workflow model establishes the different activities, the information flows and the different stages…
A Knowledge Management Approach through Product Lifecycle Management Implementation: An Industrial Case Study
An alternative approach for planning and development of projects that requires knowledge management and information integration in small and medium enterprises, is presented and the methodology is applied to support the design and construction of waste treatment plants.
Integrating Synchronous Collaborative Applications with Product Lifecycle Management Workflows
A method for including synchronous collaborative applications within a PLM system ignores powerful benefits that could provide further time-saving benefits and a prototype which implements that method is presented.
Original scientific paper The current tendency of global competitiveness requires the development of distributed application systems that are used in the product design, the production preparation,
A Business Process Modelling Approach to Improve OEM and Supplier Collaboration
This paper focuses on Business Process Modeling (BPM) and process interactions during the development phases of innovative products and the relationship between SMEs and their suppliers, based on ICT technologies and focuses on SMEs adoption of PLM.

Abstract: Advances in information technologies have enabled designers to more effectively communicate, collaborate, obtain, and exchange a wide range of design resources during development.
Comparison of Enterprise Integration Concepts (PLM and EA) from the Point of View Green Manufacturing
The chapter compares these concepts and evaluates them from the point of view of green manufacturing and three lifecycle approaches are defined as the postulate to supplement and to extend actual enterprise integration concepts.

Application of product data management technologies for enterprise integration
The paper describes methodologies being developed that are aimed at overcoming the lack of analysable product information at the conceptual stage of product design and manufacturing evaluation, along with the integration of such a concept design tool within a distributed environment.
An agent-based approach for coordinating product design workflows
Integration framework of process planning based on resource independent operation summary to support collaborative manufacturing
The integration framework uses an Integrated Product and Process Data (IPPD) representation called a Resource Independent Operation Summary (RIOS) to facilitate the communication of business and manufacturing requirements and Java and XML are used to ensure software and information portability.
Integrative process plan model and representation for intelligent distributed manufacturing planning
A process plan model that allows for tight integration into a coherent system and the benefits of integrated consideration are described for several currently implemented applications such as feature modelling, process visualization, process network generation, cell formation, and scheduling.
Digital enterprise technology in production networks
Digital enterprise technology (DET) is a framework for new technologies which can shorten product development and realisation, by estimating and therefore controlling quality, cost and delivery factors for products at an early stage in their lifecycle.
A distributed internet-based framework for manufacturing planning
This paper presents an Internet-based framework, which supports distributed process planning activities in the context of a VE, and uses the developed approach, physically distributed product development partners can collaborate virtually via the Internet and integrate their life-cycle product development activities through seamless information exchange.
Design of a manufacturing knowledge model
The aim of this research was to design a manufacturing knowledge model (MKM) and demonstrate its functionality through experimental software and presents requirements for a new MKM, proposes its structure and describes its design.
State-of-the-art technologies and methodologies for collaborative product development systems
In this paper, the recently related works are summarised from three aspects—visualisation-based collaborative systems, co-design collaborative systems and CE (concurrent engineering)- based collaborative systems.
