Modeling of a Racing Car with Modelica's Multi-Body Library

  title={Modeling of a Racing Car with Modelica's Multi-Body Library},
author={Johan Andreasson and Andreas M{\"o}ller and Martin Otter},
The modular modeling of the 3-dimensional mechanics of a racing car with Modelica is discussed. For example, one base model class of the wheel suspension is defined and used to model 4 occurences in the front and rear suspension. This model of the car is based on a new Modelica library to model 3-dimensional mechanical systems. This library is explained in some detail.

Wheel model library for use in vehicle dynamics studies
The implementation of a wheel model library is discussed. The modular structure and its benefits when configuring existing models and developing new ones is presented. The calculation of tyre-road
VehicleDynamics library
A Modelica library for vehicle dynamics problems has been developed and a pre-release version is available. The library is based on modular design and contain models of components as well as
Modularised Tyre Modelling in Modelica
Abstract Good tyre models are essential for driving sim-ulation of all ground vehicles using pneumatictyres. However, tyre behaviour is extremely com-plex, often requiring different models for the
The VehicleDynamics Library Overview and Applications
The VehicleDynamics Library provides a foundation for model-based vehicle dynamics analysis, in particluar related to road-vehicle handling. This commercial new library is a major improvement and
The Vehicle Dynamics Library: New Concepts and New Fields of Application
The Vehicle Dynamics Library is a commercial Modelica library for vehicle dynamics applications. This paper highlights recent development with focus on extended usability. Key changes are improved
This paper addressees the aspect of computer aided analysis and design of mechatronic systems with emphasis on their system dynamics and control. At first a rather general, however, perhaps also
Development of a Vehicle Model Architecture in Modelica
The real power and flexibility that comes from using Modelica for physical modeling stems from the combination of the acausal approach to formulating physical connections combined with sets of
Modelica and Dymola for education in vehicle dynamics at KTH
Dymola and Modelica has been used at KTH Vehicle Dynamics (KTHVD) for research work since 2000, see e.g. [1]. With the Vehicle Dynamics Library (VDL) [2], Modelica has become far more accessible for

A Modelica library for modeling and simulation of vehicle power trains
In this article a new Modelica library to model vehicle power trains is discussed. An overview of the elements within the library is given, such as planetary gearsets, laminar clutches, torque
