Abstract

The article is dedicated to the notion and method of modeling, description of this phenomenon in science, scientific approaches to definition of modeling, its application in didactics and foreign language education as an effective means for forming foreign language professional lexical competence. The analysis of the method and approaches to modeling and its interpretation highlighted in the article allowed to understand its importance and applicability in the field of foreign language education practice. In this article the notion, phenomenon and method of modeling alongside with approaches to its definition in science, its application in didactics and foreign language education as an effective means for forming foreign language professional lexical competence were described. Various models contributing to forming lexical competence are constructed and presented in the article and might be taken into account by the beginning language teachers as guidelines for designing professional lexical training and foreign language courses for specific purposes.
