In this paper, an experimental study followed by equivalent circuit modeling for dielectric dissipation factor (DDF) or tanδ measurement over the power frequency (50 Hz) to very low frequency (0.1 Hz) range is presented. Here, the dielectric loss is investigated using two different short sections of service-aged 11-kV cross-linked polyethylene cable, and later the experimental result is validated by employing the extended Debye and Cole-Cole model.
