This paper presents the application of model based predictive torque control (MPTC) with duty ratio optimization for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drives. By using MPTC, significant reduction in torque and flux ripples can be achieved by selecting the voltage vector best satisfying the demands of torque and flux.
