BACKGROUND The metabolic syndrome is a growing global public health problem. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the prevalence rate and modal subcomponents of the metabolic syndrome in subjects treated at the West Los Angeles Veterans Administration Medical Center Bipolar Clinic.
