This chapter provides an overview of the concept of Mobile Collaborative Augmented Reality (MCAR). An introduction to augmented reality is firstly provided which gives an insight into the requirements of mobile augmented reality (some-times referred to as handheld augmented reality). A set of current MCAR systems are examined to provide context of the current state of the research. The chapter finishes with a look into the requirements and future of MCAR.
