This paper surveys and brings some order to the broad set of charges that commentators have begun to levy against data mining, all expressed in the language of discrimination. It maps the myriad kinds of discrimination ascribed to data mining, clarifies the precise mechanisms the commentators see as giving rise to these objectionable forms of discrimination, and specifies the principles or policies that such discrimination seems to
