The small bowel (SB) has been largely bypassed by flexible endoscopy because of inaccessibility. Push enteroscopy is now in the past, with recent innovations now making visualization of the SB possible. Wireless capsule endoscopy (CE) and double-balloon endoscopy (DBE) have been introduced.
