Summary This paper investigates the family life course of native and immigrant women in 19th century Antwerp and Geneva, two contexts characterized by rapid population growth, urbanization and immigration. Using data from the COR-sample of Antwerp and from a family reconstitution of Geneva, we analyze individual family life courses in a sequential data perspective.
