In this paper an overview of the main microwave characteristics observed on three forest areas selected in different areas worldwide is given. Microwave parameters were analyzed for a yearly cycle (2007-2008), paying particular attention to the seasonal variations forest leaf biomass, expressed as leaf area index (LAI), and climatic conditions.
