  • The current paper describes a novel approach to produce a composite by the pyrolysis of phenol resin, Si and ZrO2 powders with unique properties arising from porous structure, to develop a technique that might be implied to prepare porous composites with well‐controlled porous structure, and to convert the used polymeric materials to silicon carbide in order to minimize the environmental problems caused by the gases formed during combustion of used polymeric products.
