The formation of the pyrrolic alcohol glutathione (GSH) conjugates of two different types of pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs), i.e. clivorine (an otonecine-type PA) and retrorsine (a retronecine-type PA), was investigated with rat microsomes in the presence of GSH.
