The role of fetal cells persistence in maternal organism after gestation (fetal-maternal microchimerism) is poorly understood. To investigate the regenerative potential of these cells in heart and muscle lesions, we evaluated the presence of fetal cells in these organs during the acute infection by T. cruzi of parturient female mice which had GFP+ puppies.
