Since 1985 147 explorations of the cerebellopontine angle have been performed in patients with trigeminal neuralgia (TN), in 26 patients with hemifacial spasm (HFS), and in the craniospinal region in 22 patients with spasmodic torticollis (ST). In TN in 128 (87%) patients vascular compression of the fifth nerve was found, in 8 (5%) — compression by a tumour, but in 11 (7.5%) nerve compression was not observed.
