This paper presents a novel algorithm to generate micrography QR codes, a novel machine-readable graphic generated by embedding a QR code within a micrography image. The unique structure of micrography makes it incompatible with existing methods used to combine QR codes with natural or halftone images. We exploited the high-frequency nature of micrography in the design of a novel deformation model that enables the skillful warping of individual letters and adjustment of font weights to enable…

The Nested QR Code

Construction methods for generating the proposed nested QR code with high decoding robustness are presented, and experimental results verify the feasibility of the proposed method.

Though based on approaches for addressing the classic problem of algorithmic two-dimensional bin-packing, aesthetically pleasing results are achieved through the incorporation of a small set of rules to guide the layout.

Q UALITY I NCREASES AS THE E RROR R ATE D ECREASES

This paper proposes an approach to the design of processes and software that aims at decreasing human and software errors, based on the natural relationship between quality and error rate, increasing the latter as the error rate decreases.

A novel framework for embellishing a standard QR code, to make it both attractive and recognizable by any human while maintaining its scanability, is proposed and yields lower data error than previous global transformation techniques.

QR Images: Optimized Image Embedding in QR Codes

This paper introduces the concept of QR images, an automatic method to embed QR codes into color images with bounded probability of detection error. These embeddings are compatible with standard

Halftone QR codes

This work builds a pattern readability function wherein it learns a probability distribution of what modules can be replaced by which other modules in QR codes, and expresses the input image in terms of the learned dictionary to encode the source text.

Efficient QR Code Beautification With High Quality Visual Content

A two-stage approach to generate QR code with high quality visual content based on the Gauss-Jordan elimination procedure and the experimental results show that the proposed method substantially enhances the appearance of the QR code and the processing complexity is near real-time.

Appearance-Based QR Code Beautifier

This work makes QR code from machine decodable only (i.e. standardized random texture) to a personalized form with human visual pleasing appearance and expects the proposed QR code beautifier can inspire more visual-pleasant mobile multimedia applications.

Taking into account the parameters of the error correction, the reading characteristics for different positions of the superimposed image are measured and the best position for it has been studied.

PiCode: A New Picture-Embedding 2D Barcode

Comparisons with the existing beautified 2D barcodes show that PiCode achieves one of the best perceptual qualities for the embedded image, and maintains a better tradeoff between image quality and decoding robustness in various application conditions.

Digital micrography

An algorithm for creating digital micrography images, or micrograms, a special type of calligrams created from minuscule text, is presented, which automatically generates engaging, readablemicrograms starting from a vector image and an input text while providing a variety of optional high-level controls to the user.

Image Processing of 2-Dimensional Barcode

The dotted picture or image multiplexing method over the QR coding and the evaluation of the redundancy characteristics of the QR decoding function in the cellular phone are presented.

Structure-based ASCII art

This paper presents a novel method to generate structure-based ASCII art that approximates the major line structure of the reference image content with the shape of characters using a novel alignment-insensitive shape similarity (AISS) metric.
