A surface soil sample irrigated with sewage effluent since 30 years was collected from AbuRawash farm in Egypt. The faecal coliform population in the sewaged soil sample was enriched to reach 7.9x10 viable cell/g. oven dry soil. The soil was directly decontaminated from enteric pathogens through inoculation with one of the six different microorganisms, i.e. Trichoderma sp., Pseudomonas sp., Thiobacillus thiooxidans, Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans, Acinetobacter sp. or Bacillus megatherium or… CONTINUE READING
