Microangiopathic hemolytic anemia and severe thrombocytopenia inBrucella infection

Abstract

A case ofBrucella septicemia presenting at the onset as a severe microangiopathic hemolytic anemia with coexisting dramatic hemorrhagic syndrome (severe epistaxis, gross hematuria, and skin purpura) is reported.
