Small leucine-rich proteoglycans (SLRPs) are extracellular molecules that bind to TGFbetas and collagens and other matrix molecules. In vitro, SLRPs were shown to regulate collagen fibrillogenesis, a process essential in development, tissue repair, and metastasis.
