The congenerity of Arctomyia Lundstrom, 1915, with Metriocnemus van der Wulp, 1874, is confirmed. Types of Arctomyia sibirica Lundstrom ; Chironomus picipes Meigen, 1818 : Metriocnemus longipalpus Sinharay et Chaudhuri, 1978 ; and Apometriocnemus beringiensis Cranston et Oliver, 1988 ; are examined.
