BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) is one of the enzymes involved in folate metabolism and DNA methylation and synthesis. Some genotypes of this highly polymorphic enzyme are associated with decreased activity.
