Methods and results of EPA's study of radon in drinking water

Samples from more than 2500 public water supplies representing 35 states were collected. For the most part, samples were from public groundwater supplies serving 1000 or more people. Although only about five percent of the total number of groundwater supplies in the 48 contiguous states of the U.S. wre sampled, those samples represent nearly 45 percent of the water consumed by the U.S. groundwater users in the 48 contiguous states
