We propose a new method for studying the anomaly of magnetic susceptibility $\chi$ that indicates a phase transition for quantum spin systems. In addition, we introduce the fourth derivative $A$ of the lowest energy eigenvalue per site with respect to magnetization, that is, the second derivative of $\chi^{-1}$. To verify the validity of this method, we apply it to an $S=1/2$ XXZ antiferromagnetic chain. The lowest energy of the chain is calculated by numerical diagonalization. As a result, the…

Quantum Spin Fluid Behaviors of the Kagome- and Triangular-Lattice Antiferromagnets

The S=1/2 kagome-lattice antiferromagnet is investigated using the numerical diagonalization of finite-size clusters. The analysis of the susceptibility at the zero magnetization indicates that the

One-Dimensional Chain of Anisotropic Spin-Spin Interactions. II. Properties of the Ground-State Energy Per Lattice Site for an Infinite System

The ground-state energy $2f$ per lattice site for an infinite system is studied as a function of $\ensuremath{\Delta}$ and of the magnetization $y$. Analyticity properties of $f(\ensuremath{\Delta},

Magnetization curve and correlation function of Haldane-gap antiferromagnet in strong magnetic field

The shape of the magnetization curve of the S =1 Heisenberg antiferromagnet at zero temperature is discussed. It is found that the magnetization behaves as \(\sqrt{h-h_{c}}\) at the beginning of
